Obituary of The Babsy Ntombentsha Ruda
Babsy Ntombentsha Ruda was born eNgcobo in the Eastern Cape on December, 18th 1934 to parents Mary-Jane and Johnson Dlwati. She was the 5th of 7 children. She began her schooling in the Eastern Cape until the family moved to Johannesburg where she attended Kinnelon High School in Pretoria.
She later married her late husband Wellington Ruda .
She worked as a garment worker until her retirement and was an active member of the Garment Workers Union.
In 1973 she joined the Seventh - Day Adventist movement and was baptized as a member. She served the church in various departments, Dorcas being her most predominant.
Mawe (as she was affectionately known to her family) made sure everywhere she went she preached about her risen Saviour, even at her deathbed she blessed the nurses, as per report.
She was blessed with 6 children, who gave her 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her only living sibling Nomahlubi Dlwati who takes her place as the Matriarch of the Dlwati family.
She fought a good fight, she kept the faith and now lies asleep awaiting the soon return of her Saviour Jesus Christ. She will be sorely missed.
