Obituary Of The Late Dr Thapelo Pholo

Thapelo Pholo was born in Maseru on the 11 September  1972; the first son of the Late Napo Edwin and ‘Mamots’elisi  Elizabeth Pholo (nee Letsoela)

He did his Primary Education at St. James Primary School in  Maseru from where he proceeded to Lesotho High School for  his High School Education and matriculated in 1989. He  then went on to the then European Economic Community  (EEC) College of Maths and Science in Maseru in 1990.  Thereafter he worked for Lesotho Telecommunications  Corporation for 10 years, from 1991 to 2001 before  commencing his tertiary education at the Vaal University of  Technology in Vanderbijlpark in 2002.

In 2004 Thapelo completed his National Diploma and  obtained a B. Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering at the  same Institution in 2006. Was awarded his M. Tech Degree  cum laude in September 2008

From Vaal University of Technology, Thapelo worked for  Telkom SA (Pty), Ltd. as a Specialist in Network Provisioning  Management for three years before moving to VodaCom SA  (Pty), Ltd. where he passed on working as a Senior Specialist  for Core Network Engineering.

In September 2011 he commenced his Doctoral Studies at the  Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Pretoria Campus;  and he was also part-time lecturer for B. Tech in Radio  Engineering and Electronic Communication from 2012 to  2014.

He has submitted three articles for publication in peerreviewed journals as well as four presentations at three  national and one international conference. His research  interests were in Internet of Things; 5G; Artificial  Intelligence and Pattern Recognition.

Thapelo was joined in Holy Matrimony with ‘Malibe Molapo  (Maboitumelo Pholo), the only daughter to Mr. Mohaeka  Molapo and Mrs. ‘Mapeete Molapo of Hlotse, Leribe. The  marriage bore them three children – a son and girl twins –  Boitumelo, Tshepiso and Tshepang

He leaves his wife, children, Seven sisters and three  brothers. May his soul Rest in Peace
