Obituary Of The Late Vumile Sylvia Nkabinde

Vumile Sylvia Nkabinde Was Born on the 14th Of December 1946 in Hambrook Bergville, She was the first daugter of the late Rev. Steven Ephraim Buthelezi and Mrs Gerty Bajabulile  (Ma Mdunge) Buthelezi.

She started her primary education in Bergville and proceeded to Mandlezizwe in Belwer and later went to St. Francis College in Marrianhill where she completed her secondary education. Furthering her studies , she enrolled at Adams College in Amanzimtoti where she obtained her teachers certificate. She started working in Bethany and Bergville in Hambrook. She enrolled in music classes part time.

She married the late Mr Peter Musa Nkabinde and moved to johannesburg in Alexandra. She started working at Ikage Primary school in Alexandra where she made a lot of friends. Relocated to Soweto in Diepkloof, she worked at Vilamazibuko for afew years then Emtonjeni Primary School in Orlando and Vezokuhle Primary School also in Orlando. She later joined Khandubuhle Primary School in Pimville where she retired

She was very passionate in music as she taught and conducted music at her church. As a conductor at school she worked with love and passion and won a few competitions after her retirement she was recruited by Eistedford , Dikonokono Kids, where different schools from different provinces showed their children talents. She traveled to different provinces as an adjudicator , she society so she joined Kharikude Adult Education where she was amongst other teachers to help elevate literacy in black societies .

She joined Johannesburg Retired Teachers Association , she was became a proud and dedicated member who worked tirelessly cause she did everything with love and passion. As she liked joining other women and making a change, she obtained a group of ladies and formed Sisters and Mantombazane. Mama loved travelling and yes indeed she travelled the world.

She was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a pillar of strength for her family, a great grandmother, a sister in law, a friend, a teacher to all.

She is survived by her brother Sonke Buthelezi, two daughters Thembi and Zodwa, a son Muzi, a son in law Bhekithemba Mngomezulu, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, She will be missed by the whole family and friends.
